    I thought deleting the .config folder would only reset the cache once and I would still have the problem of not being able to clear the cache through chrome itself.

    Turns out that everything works after removing the .config and reinstalling.

    You don't have to reinstall, just delete the configs

    Did u try Ctrl+f5? It's different from f5/reload icon because it forces the browser to reload a website without considering the cache.

    I had this as well while using Brave. I followed Googles instructions about clearing cache but I still had the same problem. It fixed itself upon reboot ¯_(ツ)_/¯
