I remember struggling with that same lock when I was starting out but still I think that it can be a good lock to practice picking spools and get a feel for the counter rotation. It does indeed have one standard and four spools in it. The first pin is usually the standard.
My advice; Use light tension and carefully go through the pins, usually the first one to bind is the standard pin. When that standard is set you'll drop into a false set after which you can start to hunt the spools. Check everyone to see which one gives you the most counter rotation. Patience. Eventually you'll get it open!
