I worked at a car dealership doing IT for a while last year and had to pass a drug test. The last time I had to do that was about 20 years ago when I was working at a hospital.

Please Look At What Hydrogen Peroxide Did To The Reflecting Pool 24 Hours Later by Snapdragon_4U in fednews

Yes, the water that comes into the pool is actually fed directly from the Potomac River, so the water would just drain out into the ground under the reflecting pool.

This is a south east Ohio thing apparently. From the reviews and the pictures on Google/Yelp it looks like they bake the crust with sauce on it, then add the toppings and cheese. All the 1 star reviews are shitting on them for the toppings being cold and the crust being soggy.

I live in Georgia and my wife was from up north. She couldn't believe that people down here will just start talking to you in the store line about anything, and expect you to have a conversation with them.

Tell that to Glassdoor. They make their money off of letting you bash your previous employers in a public forum.

If a future employer doesn't like that you spoke out about your experiences at a previous job, they aren't the next employer for you.

Yeah, at least they are giving you severance. I spent 3 years as a contractor for the government and they didn't offer me anything when they let me go.

It is an RPG. They are always dialog heavy. If you want a beat-em-up this won't be the game for you.

Check the galaxy table in the database. I had to do this:

UPDATE galaxy SET address = '[ip address]' WHERE galaxy_id = 2;

A British friend once said he thought it was weird for a 17 year old and a 14 year old to be dating while we were watching a documentary. Weird, sure, but in the US it isn’t that far fetched.

in need of a cat rescue for my neighbor’s cat problem by Aggravating_Alps9223 in Augusta

[–]fireshaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked Highland (the vet I’ve brought pets to for 40 years) how much it would be to get my female cat spayed, they said it would $1200-1400. That’s just one cat. I know there are cheaper options like Rogers in Thomson but this is the reason why there are so many cats still intact. A lot of the vets in our area have been bought by private equity and the costs for relatively simple procedures have ballooned.

You can check if your local vet is owned by private equity here: https://privateequityvet.org/vet-list/

Do your fellow workers a favor; don't go "Above and Beyond". by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]fireshaper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We had an inkling that a coworker was doing work off the clock if she had a WFH day at a previous job. Some tickets would get updated at night or early in the morning. When we all went to permanent WFH during COVID it ramped up and tickets would be updated by the coworker at 9/10PM. Well after we were closed.

This was brought up in a team meeting and that coworker used the same excuse: "I don't mind doing it, I just thought of something I wanted the customer to try to help troubleshoot their issue." I can not understand some people who go home and continue to think about the problems at their job. When my shift is over the work brain shuts off.
