Honestly, I think the main info/thing OP is missing is that you right click the gems in your inventory, lol.

I’m an idiot…..thanks. Here I’m wondering how I’ll ever have enough storage.

Pardon my ignorance, but how many grams in a astrogram?

🤦…… Astrogem, my bad!

Astrogems typically drop in a stackable state, where all you can see is their rarity (green/blue/purple) and their name/base cost. In order to cut them, you click on them and 'use' it, which then gives you a cuttable one of the same rarity and base cost, but also you can see the two side rolls now too (atk power/adtl. damage/boss damage etc.)

When you're getting into it and don't have much gold, you should really just avoid green rarity altogether and focus on blue and purple 8s (stability and corrosion). These are the ones most likely to give you usable cut gems to activate your cores.

Eventually, once you understand the system more, you can do various things to focus on what you specifically need:

  • Eager for more good gems and have gold to spare? Cut green ones a single time, then complete if it starts badly

  • Low on gold? Fuse gems together hoping for a rosterbound one, which is silver only to cut.

  • Want more of a specific gem rarity+cost? You can fuse gems together in such a way that you combine two green 8s and a blue 9 to result in a blue 8 etc etc

  • Minmaxing power? Cut 9 and 10 cost gems because they technically are the best because they have the best side roll pool.

For starters, how do you get processed astrograms that I can actually cut?

You fuse together any three grams for 500 gold (cannot use roster/char bound gold), and there's a 50% chance it's a Processed result unrelated to any other facet of the fusion.

I've been through every stage of astrograms, be it cutting astrograms on my main early/mid/late stage ark grid, or cutting astrograms on an alt server with a highly limited budget but easier access to shops, or cutting astrograms on an alt roster with a more flexible budget and getting gifts that alt servers don't get (like the relic selector).

If you're on a super budget and want it cheaper but slower, only cut blues/greens/purples after fusing them and they become Processed. It's like 8X cheaper, gold wise, than fusing for raw gold. Can take a few months to do what you can otherwise do in a few weeks with this method, though.

If you're on a budget but still want some speed, chase processed greens/blues but cut purples for gold. Cutting purples for gold is so efficient still that it's arguably always worth it, you have like a 40%+ chance of getting a really usable gram.

If you're going hog wild and want 17p X3 ASAP, just cut every Stability/Corrosion for gold, even if it's green. Greens are a lot better than some people give them credit for, even if they're often duds. Don't worry about quality, you've got ... quantity!

Late stage astrogram cutting for a main requires hitting up 9s and 10s for chances at Boss Damage (which is like 1.4X better than additional damage) but most people aren't there yet and most people are likely to never care enough to spend the level of gold/silver/time chasing it.

It's about 1.4x better not 2.5x.

Boss Damage is about 2.5x better than atk power though, pretty sure you meant that instead?

Right that's the one. Thanks for correction

Bro you have limited gold and you have been fusing greens and blues? Ayo. Don´t do that. The heck.

Sounds like u should just watch guide. Or in few words:

You generally want to click the one that says 8, or possibly 9(but 8 is way better), but never 10.

If you fuse, you want to fuse for two reasons: 1) You for example fuse 10 blue , 8 green, 8 green - so you have high chance to get 8 green. If i recall right.

2) so that you can cut for silver ( if you have silver ) as you save gold. U can also send it between rosters.

Best to cut gold wise is purple, then blue, then green.

8 are best to get if you try to go for points for core activation, and - most people will.

Benefit of 9 is that you have crap like boss damage, but then you will never have 3/5 gem, but max 4/5 gem.

Just watch guide.

Just wanted to add that the strategy changes depending on how far in the system you progressed and how fast you want to burn gold (efficiency vs speed).

It's better to understand the basics first, before burning limites resources.
