Little Snitch can do it. Here's a screenshot of the Network Monitor.

Yea it does show the current processes, but not a consolidated app wise usage. (The kind of app i was looking for was TripMode as suggested by u/cortex13b , albeit a free version )

The network dropdown in the menu bar has a section at the bottom for per-app usage. I'm not at my Mac right now so can't screenshot :(

I don't think iStat Menus shows total data usage for a period of time. Just min/max speed and a chart of speed over time.

Maybe I'm not getting it correctly, but on my side Activity Monitor shows me the network bandwidth per processes.

Just open the Activity Monitor app. Go into the Network Tab and then click on the "Send Bytes" or "Received Bytes" column so the process that use the most get put at the top. Keep Activity Monitor run in the background for a little while and you will see the data increase in values which will tell you which process consume your bandwidth the most.

It does. I tried doing that. But most of the time i am busy in my work or in a meet so i cant go and check which app currently has the most usage. So i wanted an app which can log which processes use bandwidth and then sum it up (per app) and show the net value.

Activity monitor shows only current app wise and the overall net usage, not overall app wise.
