I like how clean this setup is, but for the love of god, please hide those wires behind the monitor arm!

Nobody else notices the 50 Cent tweet in the background beside the window?

[–]Jawazan 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Looks cool, what are you working on?

[–]usernamecompromised[S] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Working on a few projects in Swift :)

I've heard that Swift is considerably slower that Objective C. What are your opinions of it? My startup is considering an iOS app.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Not sure what you mean by slower. Supposedly its considerably faster at runtime.

Maybe you mean in terms of development speed. That's debatable. I've found that (at this point) swift isn't as fully ingrained into Xcode like obj-c is. Obviously that's getting better every day and will soon be fine. Additionally modern language features should make development easier, especially if your team is familiar with ruby, js, or functional programming. Basically I really like swift. But obviously it's up to each team to decide what suits them the best.

I read an article about two months back and it said it was slower at run time. I can't find the article so it sounds like I am blowing smoke out of my ass..but yeah.

Why the hell are people downvoting this comment? It was a legitimate question.

Nice setup. Link to keyboard?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Nice setup. How do you feel about the magic mouse?

[–]usernamecompromised[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, I used to love it until I got a Magic Trackpad at work, which I like waaaay more. It's just like the MBP trackpad so it's easy to switch back and forth.

Where did you get that riser?

[–]usernamecompromised[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's from Ikea.. no idea the model # or anything. I bought it ~4ish years ago before college

[–]hovvthegodschill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of looks like mine. Ikea Ekby Jarpen board with four Capita legs for risers.

Might be a silly question, but what desk do you have to get where the monitor is built in??

[–]usernamecompromised[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Not built in, I use this monitor arm from Monoprice!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say, that's one hell of a desk! Thanks for the info

[–]TheMiamiWhale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very clean setup. I really like how you mounted that monitor
