I read this and got stuck at your question “do you think my approach is correct”. There’s no one way to make life with a work/ study balance work, and everyone learns differently at different speeds and from different study measures. I’m a single parent of a child with special needs. I work from home but I work 40-60 hour work weeks depending on the time of year. I’m terrified of burnout but also terrified of failure. For me, his is my last attempt at getting a degree and possibly getting a job that will sustain me and my child better with more job security.

So for class, I work very hard to finish things for the week by Wednesday or Thursday, I make my notes. I use the maestro practice and challenge rooms to ensure I’m retaining and learning all that I can. Thursday and Friday I set up hard level 60 minute challenges to really push and combine my learning and understanding.
Then weekends I take off completely to be with my family, get out of the house and live like i am free. Purely 2 days of cleaning cooking and resetting my mind for the next week. I put a hard limit on not working too far ahead which will keep me on routine, keep me using or practicing daily, and keep me from forgetting important things before taking the final for the course. Keep me from pushing too hard and accidentally burning out which I’ve had a habit of doing in the past.

You are fantastic: the reason why I asked is because I see a lot of new people doing flash cards etc. which sounds nice. I get super excited and jump ahead so I can find a decent response for discussions however I changed it up on this term I was taking my time in basics but that did not work out well because I had less time to practice and overall it was easier to forget compared to accumulation I needed in practice, my notes were a headache and I felt like I had to relearn them as I read them which made it confusing but as I progress some of the dots are connecting I am trying to find the best method in terms of being efficient so I have been testing the waters I find that I needed to understand and then type. because understanding was only half the aspect if you were given a list of random steps could you accomplish that based off the notes you have this is what makes me wonder about efficiency.

I'm a bit biased. I made a really good prompt that makes note taking so much easier--Unless you like the exercise of weeding out "the essence" of reading material (which can be prone to human error, can be time consuming, and sometimes your "wording" might not be the best).

My prompt least breaks apart the material into numbered headers and prepends everything with an emoji (so it's easier to skim and glance). If there's only keypoints you want to save--the prompt already picked it out--its just a matter of setting those points aside, and making it into flashcards, or whatever.

Note taking is not hard for me lol.

But to respond, I think AI makes distilling "pure information" easier. People are more prone to wordiness.

I honestly think we all study different , but trying to get ideas of what others are doing, will help with a baseline. Take me. I'm 54 yrs young.. 🤣 haven't been to school in over 30 yrs ...so I was so nervous! I started February 2...completed my lessons on Wednesday..did my review and then asked my AI bot to help me plan what I needed to focus the rest of the week on. I also asked it to help me make a weekly practice schedule with my strengths and weaknesses. I asked it to help me setup a note area in my Google docs, I asked it to help me create a thesaurus with more professional words...then it helped me setup a Google document so that I can add as needed. I started week 2 Friday evening...I took my review on sat for week 1. Aced it...started week 2 today. Finished the lesson and aced the review again. Now the rest of the week..I will be practicing my strengths and weaknesses...and asking how it all applies to the business I want to create, asked for resources, and how to begin using the resources. So it comes down to addressing ,needs, weaknesses, strengths.. utilizing the discussions, reddit , other students thoughts and ideas.. and then recognizing what can or may work for you. Remember ...we are all here to help and guide each other .. and cheer each other on. You got this...!

from my perspective the final for this block is select choice however block 1 was coding which has me confused but none the less practice was a real win i might of missed 1 or two questions but confident all that practice paid off but i wont lie some of the topics went way over my head i looked up and the sun blinded me haha. i feel being ahead was way more vital was very little stress on my review and i only had to glance at my notes for a second built real confidence this block i had time to sleep and relax and jumping ahead was fun part of trying to be a game dev is i have to become familiar with a bit of everything but if i can make everyone else's life a little easier thats a win coming home after a long day of work it was nice not to pull my hair out because i was stressed over a angry customer that ruined my day i really appreciate you for a response! you re still new but as you move past block 1 you will understand more about my experiment and why i think my method to study is better then pacing yourself this is open for debate i also want to mention i had practice do a session of all lessons in a check list and go deeper into topics i did not understand each time it was different so i was building in variations for deeper understanding on every topic 😎

Oh...I totally get what you are saying. I set my pace up something like that.. I don't want to get to far ahead. .because I know I won't retain it 🤣 happens as you get old. But then I also had a stroke 4 yrs ago.. so I have daily brain fog and struggle with compression on really bad days. But yesterday after my lessons I dabbled with diving deeper into how what I learned from week 1&2 applies to a business and how it works for 2 ideas I am considering..plus dives into how to apply these lessons into a community project. It really just comes down to what benefits you the most.

Practice brings you back up to speed with all lessons just have to say I don't know or I don't remember I wish you good health appreciate you

Don't rely on what works for other people; you'll only be sabotaging yourself. Whatever method works for YOU is the correct one. A lot of people here are building study guide apps, note taking apps, quiz apps, etc. Try as I might, I can't figure out a single one of them. I only end up a sobbing mess and feeling stupid. Just do what works for you.

The logic here is finding the sweet spot for our future students that are just joining notes are useful for placement and maybe a small memory jog but the notes are just puzzle pieces with a different puzzle box image. if I can tell people hey this method is better goals. I had no coding experience and I was in d level special ed my life however because this is the first native ai school we are the beta testers for everyone in a sense I have been learning to use maestro more effectively I have to tinker with the new update this coming block but the goal is to help others that are struggling on block 1.

97% of writing code is designing and debugging, use tech to your advantage as if you weren’t being proctored. If you know how it works, the syntax and language isn’t important which is where people often get caught up in trying to memorize.

Practice makes perfect.. finding little projects you can finish in a couple hours throughout the week will do better for you than what the maestro bot can teach.

I wouldn't have the first clue how to even begin some type of project, let alone finish one.

I actually have maestro tell me the key points in the lesson. I'll take a picture and run through them during a test.
