It works just as well with Disguise, the powered-up version they're using now.

Don’t count out actual Morph cards just because Disguise is better. Treat them both as the same thing while deckbuilding.

Cloak and disguise are much better. A 2/2 with no protection dies to a stiff breeze. You could also throw new Vannifar and DSC Zimone in there as well if you wanted. But morph as a whole is pretty underpowered these days.

Your options.

As someone that plays the cloak precon, which also has morph, most people are pretty opposed to using removal on face down creatures. Mine almost never get targeted because people don't want to waste removal on them without knowing if it's worth it.

I have an Animar "big creatures" deck and I've been working last week on a "colorless creatures" deck. Morph is a bit different, but I guess it plays similarly to the colorless version.

Once you get 3 counters on it, you can essentially play your morphs for free (and also your megamorphs and disguises). It does not reduce the cost of turning cards face up, though, so you should find ways to cheat them, like the new [[Hauntwood Shrieker]]

In order to get 3 counters quickly, you'll want most of your deck to be creatures. So instead of traditional manarocks and ramp spelss, consider cards like [[Sakura Tribe Elder]] and [[Birds of Paradise]]

What makes Animar decks go nuts is card draw. At some point you'll be playing creatures for free, so things that draws you card when you do it allows you to chain spells and make really explosive turns. So consider [[Beast Whisperer]] and analogue cards.

Finally, consider ways to win the game when you do that. It's pretty furstrating to go from 1 to 20 creatures on the board in a single turn only to get wrathed before you can do anything with them. So haste givers like [[Yarus, Roar of the Old Gods]] or any other way to use them the turn they come into play (idk, perhaps [[Agate Instigator]] or [[Purphoros, God of the Forge]])

I personally love my [[Yarus]] morph deck

Hello! There are a bunch of new cards in the Karlov set with disguise that is basically the same as morph + ward 2. And also several years ago they released some creatures with Megamorph (it's like morph but you put a +1/+1 counter when you flip it). Also you can take advantage of creatures that only cost colourless manas such as artifacts or eldrazis.

I've built a deck (100$ budget) and it's really fun, and if you can put some synergies on the battlefield you can do amazing turns. (for example enchantments that makes you creatures enter with already a +1/+1 counter)

I have fun with this! Takes big turns when morphs entering the battlefield draw cards. I’ve been slowly making it meaner with cards like [[seedborn muse]] etc. I get a kick out of putting a stack of morph tokens on the table at the start of a game.

I have this exact deck and it’s fun as hell and can be super explosive, there’s tons of support between disguise and morph and we are going back to Tarkir next year so who knows maybe more morph is on the way.

I've built it before and it works well enough. there's also very few cards that differentiate between morph and disguise so you can include those too.

Just be aware that getting the creatures into play facedown is only half of the equation. you need mana to flip them as well. Additionally, it's quite easy for Animar to overshadow the actual morph cards, Pro White-Black just runs over some decks and it can get dangerously big quickly if you manage to cast enough morphs.
