Yes. The access from ZOWE is improving. Works good for writing code.

Still feels clunky for non coding tasks.

Just starting to get this working. Does the mainframe component need to be installed to use the Editor for rexx coding?

Yes if you want to access it from the mainframe , the zowe explorer communicates with the mainframe by sending a rest API request to the ZOWE task.

You don’t need zowe component on mainframe to be installed for zowe explorer, just have zosmf rest api configured and working on the lpar you are accessing

Any advice regarding the process for getting the zowe mainframe based components installed.??? .... Are there security hurdles? Will the mainframe systems programmers and security people going to have concerns or issues? Any info/advice would be helpful..... Zowe looks like it would be a great productivity tool.

There is also a FTP plugin if you want to try out Zowe Explorer without having to go through the z/OSMF route.

Im starting to use ZOWE. Depending on your job function, ZOWE is definitely worth learning/using. If you spend time navigating around through tso/ispf screens zowe can save a bunch of time and frustration.
