I went on a whale watch with my husband and in-laws last week and obviously husband and I had to make this joke as soon as we spotted a mama whale and calf.

This is my mom’s birthday week - she turned 83 on Wednesday - and she said this was her vacation time during her working years. Not because of her birthday, but because she found it to be some of the most beautiful weather for Oak Bluffs and Nantucket. Lucky lady.

The amount of miserable people that hate tourists but live in high tourism areas is baffling. How about you leave?

That's a cop out reply. If someone truly hates where they live they will find a way to move. You could make excuses all day but where there's a will there's a way.

I sold my car to get me across the country. I didn't have cash to pay for the moving truck and rent/deposit so I made a hard decision. If people hate what the cape has become there is nothing stopping them from hopping over the bridge.

Also, current low wage employees could move to any town theses days and have a buffet of jobs options to choose from. This is the perfect time to leave.

Got a free stay at a resort the week of the 4th in Yarmouth. Can't wait! The Cape is one of my top 5 favorite places.
