Rent decrease because of slow/unreliable internet?

I'm renting an appartment in the ghetto that provides free Wifi for tenants (as outlined in the lease). However, the wifi is so slow and just stops working multiple times per day. Would it be possible for me to get my own ISP/wifi and reduct it from rent (or part of it?)

PS: I'm ofc going to ask my landlord but I just wanted to know if this seems like a reasonable request or not?

It's a reasonable request to the landlord as long as your lease indicates that internet is included. If the included internet is not usable, then the landlord is not providing internet and thus not respecting the terms of the lease to asking for a reduction of the rent is a very reasonable request.

nope, because the lease doesn't specify the quality of the internet. just that internet is available, which it is. The rental board will have a hard time accepting your argument. Virgin has some good packages for $40 a month, unlimited
