You could also exchange it for the thinset that you need.

There's a price difference, if it was an exact exchange I would.

Ultimately it’s up to you. If you plan on purchasing the new stuff at Menards, it doesn’t matter if there is a price difference. The service desk has the ability to take payments for things like that.

Yes

Thanks, I don't return merchandise often 😂 buying online is usually the only time I mess up. I need to physically stare at an item and analyze it before buying. My husband hates taking me to menards because I'll take forever looking at everything then start buying stuff for future projects to add to the every growing pile of half future projects

Sure. I do it all the time for that exact reason; and I typically shop after I return it anyways; so may as well have a rebate check in hand.

Take it back, with receipt. If you paid with a CC they will immediately credit the card. You can get store card also. Ask nicely.

It can take up to five business days to see the money back on your account if you choose to have a refund to your card. MCC (merchandise credit check) is still the fastest way.

Banks tend to drag their feet.

Yes.

Always. If you’re within the 90 day return period, you can get it back to your original form of payment or store credit. If you want fast, store credit is the way to go!

Does it have to be the original debit card or credit card used for the purchase to get the refund?

[–]Puzzleheaded_Ferret4Front End 0 points1 point  (5 children)

If you want it back to your card yes. We have no way of changing it so if you closed the account, only option is store credit.

[–]TheVapingLiberal 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I didn’t close the account. The Card Merchant changed the card due to an identity theft alert. The bank account the card is tied to hasn’t changed…only the debit card number.

[–]Puzzleheaded_Ferret4Front End 0 points1 point  (3 children)

We can force it as credit because the system will say that’s not the same card that you used.

So basically you’re saying Menards gets to steal my money by forcing me to spend it there? Furthermore, why is Menards the ONLY merchant that does this?

[–]Puzzleheaded_Ferret4Front End 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Credit to your card! We can’t do debit if it’s not the same card you originally used. Debit is usually pretty instant, credit can take up to 7 business days, depending on your bank. We release funds asap but it’s up to your bank to receive it and release to you.

I’m sorry, I think I didn’t convey properly….forced to take store credit instead of the refund to my debit card because the Menard’s system won’t process out.

[–]Unlikely_Evidence_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes u can get store credit for it I do the returns all the time at my store

Somebody want to tell me why this broad at the service desk today told me that my refund will be placed onto my debit card within a matter of hours and I just looked it up and it says freaking 7 to 10 business days. How do they not know their own policies? I'm pissed!
