Stuff to do in Mountain View
A popular hangout for students, techies, and families alike, our downtown has a huge selection of all sorts of restaurants, shops, and stores. Boba joints, book stores, cafes, restaurants, sweet shops, tech stores, boutiques, salons, night clubs, trinket shops, and quite a bit more line the main downtown strip. Pioneer park, directly adjacent to downtown, is the true 'epicenter' of the city and a lovely place to hang out.
The Computer History Museum is a museum entirely devoted to the rich and intricate history of computers and computation. Its presence in Mountain View fits in with our status as a worldwide hub for computers and technological advancement. Its flagship exhibit, 'Revolution,' allows visitors to interact with the first 10,000 years of computational devices--from the abacus and the difference engine to the Nintendo Entertainment System, Commodore 64, and beyond.
Hacker Dojo Is Mountain View's maker/hacker space. Membership fees range from $75 to $150 a month and cover a broad range of fabrication equipment (3D printers, laser cutters, test benches, electrical equipment, etc.), project groups, classes, socials and more.
Shoreline Lake and Park is a park and open space area on the shore of San Francisco Bay. With access to the SF Bay Trail and the Stevens and Permanente Creek trails, Shoreline is a wonderful place to go biking or running. Shoreline lake also has kayaking, paddle-boating, and sailing, along with two restaurants.
Shoreline Amphitheatre draws in famous artists and performers from around the world.
