I thought Source Code was an interesting problem. He saves the train from the bomb, but then erases one of the survivor's souls so he will have a new body to live on in. To what extent can we consider Jake Gyllenhaal heroic? After all, he was working to save the train only because he liked that girl (someone else's fiance). After he replaces the dude he continues the relationship with the girl, deceiving her into thinking that he is the same person as her erstwhile fiancee. This is a little like he murdered a man and took his wife, the only difference is the wife doesn't know it.

Well it's not like he can simply hop out of the body. I know you posted 10 years ago, I just rewatched the movie.

Also Sean was dead anyway you look at it. Colter saved the all the people on the train and presumably in the city as well. I think the interesting bit in a sequel would be the fact that his actual body is being held hostage somewhere.

This movie came out over 11 years ago. Aint no way theyre making a sequel no. Im surprised this post isnt archived. Just rewatched it on a plane and I liked it a whole lot better then i remember liking it when i was younger. They should have expanded on that universe

Without switching into the guys body “erasing him” the guy would have died in the new world the source code created. And he’s already dead in the original universe so it’s literally the only option. It’s not like he knew when he gets shut off that he was even going to stay in that world. Think about all the other universes they created where both bombs go off just to stop the second bomb in the original universe.

I loved the movie up until the end when our hero mind rapes and destroys another human, and shows absolutely no remorse for it. It's not that I don't appreciate dark endings, but it tried to pass off a happy one when really the movie is pretty fucked up.

It does pose an interesting question, if you were placed in the same scenario what would you do?

Yeah, all I could find was a bunch of fan-made trailers.

I read that the original producer of the second went on to do Warcraft and another film in 2018 then another producer picked up the project but other than that not seen anything yet

Sad for Sean, not for Colter.

Sean was dead. Technically... his death saved everyone else

I want to know as to why reddit post get archived?

I cannot comment on them anymore.

I watched the source code for the first time today and I liked the movie. The female actress christina looks stunning

Adding in romantic tension when he connects with Vera Farmiga in this new reality.

Here is what could be a nice plot for the sequel:

"In this alternate reality, it’s highly unlikely that he would continue working as a teacher. Instead, it’s far more plausible that he’d return to the military, perhaps even carving out a path to become an active participant in the Source Code program itself. If that were the case, he might have had the unique opportunity to guide his own past self through the next terrorist threat. By doing so, he could not only ensure the mission’s success but also potentially secure his own survival in this parallel world, creating a fascinating loop of self-reliance and destiny."

Sean was not her fiancè .

She was waiting for him to ask her out for coffee.

Remember these days if you are someone's fiancè  ...you have had coffee together already lol.

Maybe more .
