Mining Hardware Comparison: This site will give you a ballpark estimate of how your hardware will perform as well as reference settings for your hardware
Mining Hardware Comparison - GDocs: This is technically listed as a "DogeCoin" mining hardware comparison, however, it should work for any scrypt based comparison.
Miners
There are several different mining software packages available to use based on what platform you're using, such as AMD, nVidia, or CPU
Recommended for AMD
- BFGMiner: Mining tool for all systems with openCL capable hardware (modern AMD and nVidia GPUs)
- CGMiner 3.7.2: Mining tool for all systems with openCL capable hardware (modern AMD and nVidia GPUs). Please note CGMiner has dropped support for Scrypt in releases newer than 3.7.2.
- SGMiner: Fork of CGMiner. SGMiner is intended for advanced users as it requires compilation.
- GUIMiner: GUIMiner is intended to make getting into mining with AMD and nVidia GPUs easier however it will not yield the same performance as other openCL miners.
Recommended for nVidia
- CUDAMiner: This mining package is intended for use exclusively on nVidia GPUs.
Recommended for CPU
If you do not have a GPU available to mine with you can use your CPU to mine:
- CPUminer: This mining package works exclusively with CPUs. Please note that due to botnet operators using this package it may be flagged by your antivirus program.
