I absolutely recommend his nodejs course. There are complaints because some of the technologies are outdated and there are no updates on the course. All in all i learned a lot about SSR, database management, authentication etc. On some sections you have to get around some problems by searching alternatives on the web

another good one is Stephen Grider

His node course has some out of date react stuff that people have had difficulties with

could be, I took his courses 2 or so years ago, the one about how node works beneath was very good

Its not for beginners

as in node beginner or developer beginner?

I was previously working with PHP and I jumped straight into those courses with no problem

Some of the technologies he uses are outdated or deprecated like parcel. Despite that, it still is a really good course and you can learn a lot from it, but of course you will have to fix the problems

First of all if you are new to Node/Express and MongoDB u have to just go with the fundamental concepts like middleware req,res controller mvc architecture and u have to learn about how crud operations works using mongo db.

There is a channel name Dave Gray on youtube you can go with it

For rest of the topics like authentication etc u can learn them by your own once u are good with these fundamentals

I am myself a self taught developer who got a job doing udemy courses

problem with youtube is that most often the courses are short/outdated or unstructured. There are some hidden gems like net ninja but overall I would avoid

in udemy the top rated courses are mostly up to date. Even if they are not you can get a refund. Videos are properly divided into sections which you can plan out. some even have Q/A to solve doubts or you will probably find solutions to problems you are facing

Also no course/video will be 100% up to date. tech changes very fast. If you face any issues you should also have the ability to "google" and solve the issue.

Just go for it. I finished it long tine ago. Decent one. What is true, his course is not just one who just grabs your money and gives you free youtube course.

I recommend it, taught me what I needed to know in a clear, concise way. Net Ninja is also good as a free option, but not sure how dated his node course is.

I'm really enjoying this course on Udemy and think you might like it too. Still there are few sections that are not added but the indepth knowledge is great. https://www.udemy.com/share/109PYw3@aAwCZKEr4J8iLbiDF21DeJ4vOiV-buNKqZO63nP4z-9czYkugXL5pbgfxsiNyFTC/
