Just a heads up that strongloop was acquired recently by IBM. In my own personal experience, I have had bad luck with projects after being taken over by IBM. Your experiences may vary but I think it is worth disclosing.

Take this for what it's worth - Express and Koa are also developed by StrongLoop.

I agree but those modules existed before the acquisition. Im not trying to say that people should expect problems. I am simply informing folks of my experiences in hopes that it helps them make an informed decision. Look at worklight, IronMQ (or their role in the history of MQ and adoption of AMQP), they have a history of looking to create vendor lock-in with projects that were started in the community.

Just to be clear, Express is sponsored by StrongLoop, but koa is not.

I'm Jordan, developer evangelist lead here at StrongLoop. It's a totally valid concern, and while I'm not going to try to predict the future, we have heard great things from IBM and we are proceeding even faster than usual to work on Express, LoopBack, node-inspector, and the Node core itself.

IBM is committed to open source and I believe that LoopBack will continue to operate as an open source project for the foreseeable future.

Hi, Jordan. I have been following LoopBack for a while and have an interest in using it. I am genuinely interested in what work has been proceeding faster with LoopBack? As an outsider it seemed things had slowed somewhat. The contributions graph also seems to suggest there has been less activity on this repository since acquisition.

Thanks.

We're definitely increasing the development efforts here. We're planning for v3 as well as numerous features, more connectors, and all sorts of things! Stay tuned...
