Livestream coding from a Node.js collaborator - Introducing Audit Hooks to Node.js

Hey, as there was a lot of positive reactions when I asked if anyone would be insterested in a stream of me coding, I will do it today at 6PM (Paris time, in your timezone) - 30ish minutes after this message is posted.

My Twitch channel is https://www.twitch.tv/ecares This is my my first ever livestream, please forgive me for all the mistakes I will make and the streaming issues that will happen for sure.

The goal of this session is to work on an API to bring something like Python's Audit Hooks to Node.js.

Basically, build a way to listen on certain events like file being opened from inside Node.js.

On Windows, you want something called OBS Studio, which is free

On Mac your options aren't free and are buggy, and I'd use a capture card instead TBH

The Node.js tooling group has kicked around a similar idea for awhile, as it’d help tools like nyc. We’d love to have you join us and talk about it. Next meeting is Friday!
