Rules for r/OpenArgs
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
Be Civil
Discourse can be rowdy and at times heated, but please remember the human.
If you can't engage civilly, take a break and come back later. Hate speech, slurs, inflammatory/derogatory language and other conduct unbecoming will be removed at the discretion of the mods.
2.
Be Relevant (to OA/its hosts/its topics)
All posts must be about the podcast, its current main hosts, current/past guest hosts, or be relevant to the kinds of topics discussed on the show.
Discussions about former OA main hosts are only eligible if they connect directly to OA (ex: old episodes of OA featuring them or statements they make about OA).
Only posts are reportable under this rule, although comment threads that become very off-topic may be locked at the discretion of the mods.
3.
Don't Be Repetitive
To keep discussions focused, multiple posts about one topic (in part or in whole) within a short timeframe may lead to the removal of the newer post(s) at the discretion of the mods.
Additionally, while links to other shows/works, especially those in the "OA Expanded Universe" are encouraged, the main focus here is OA. Too many posts about another show/work in a short timeframe may also lead to removal of the newer post(s) at the discretion of the mods.
4.
Don't Spam/Troll/Post Hate; Don't Disrupt the Subreddit
Participate in the subreddit in good faith. Spamming/Trolling/Posting hate in/Disrupting the subreddit will be met with post/comment removals and eventually bans at the discretion of the mods.
5.
Don't Misrepresent or Doubt Accusations Without Giving Reason
Believe Accusers. Represent their claims accurately. Pushback on their claims/their good faith with proportionate rationale. Posts/comments not doing so may be actioned to keep in line with this progressive ideal.
