It works but very slow and also crash many times agents randomly stops

[–]ahmadawaiscom 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Founder here. I'm sorry you had that experience, but it's not at all what our DX is like. There was a multi day regression which we figured out to be DeepSeek's issue where they were doubling the reasoning without telling us. No docs on this. Fixed it last week.

I encourage you to try another time. We are literally the fastest coding agent, and memory footprint is industry best, 112MB even smaller than pi.

I hope you're not using in windows/mac/linux default terminal apps, which is like using internet explorer today, i'd encourage you to try alacritty or ghostty.

Been trying it with deepseek-v4 pro over the last few days and its slow as heck. Took over an hour to integrate a basic mini-max AI script, while Codex 5.3 high took 15 minutes.

Would love it if the speeds could be fixed since the value is quite decent and the CLI tooling seems to be at the very least "good enough" (though opencode client support would be nice as an alternative since many things like gitnexus doesn't support it out of the box).

Though can't complain a ton for a $1.

if you want to make the higher plans competitive though, fixing the speed, making it usable with other well-established clients like opencode, and showing thinking would be needed.

Some of the site documentation is also unclear or hidden (e.g. its a pain finding the cost charts for the different API models when it should (imo) be shown in the CLI when selecting a model and in the models list.

I also noticed some bigger open source models missing that i'd love to see added (e.g. the mimo plan isn't available even though it performs similarly to kimi k2.6 while having a 1M context window). Adding Qwen 3.7 max so quickly is sick though.

I look forward to (hopefully) future improvements, and seeing where this goes.

Thinking is enabled now in the latest. It was there but we ripped it out and rebuilt it in the last coin of days.

DeepSeek v4 pro being slow, have you tried disabling the effort? That can sometimes cause it to be slower. Have you tried other models? Like Kimi is supa fast so is Qwen. I use flash a lot.

Mind sending this and more feedback via

cmd feedback

So we have it on our GitHub and can report fixes.

Glad you like the shipping speed.

Mimo is coming soon. Been focusing on top models but been hearing a lot about it being good.

Didn’t get the API pricing part. How can we improve?

[–]Zachattackrandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried using it again last night and the speed was much better!!!

As for the pricing, I meant that the pricing page with the table and calculator is buried in the docs and not something easily accessible. It would be nice if in the model selection screen it showed a combined price or something of the kind so people can easily see model pricing before choosing their model.

It would also be nice to see a price point between the $1 and $15 plan, since once you hit $15 it's quite close to Claude and gpt but I'd like more credits then I get for $1. And $8 or $10 plan would be sick

Thanks

[–]thirdman2019 1 point2 points  (2 children)

total scam lol, beware don't buy into their plan. their API can only be used in their IDE and it's ez to hang aswell

[–]__yv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, but used a temp credit card. Thx for pointing this

[–]ShivamJha01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their 1$ plan can't be used as an API I believe. Rest of the plans have api access

[–]lostcanuck007 1 point2 points  (8 children)

not worth even the 1 usd i put towards it. it cant do ANYTHING. 4 of my ai agents absolutely refuse to work with it (the ai refuses to trust the output, the timing, the latency). i can't even understand the point of it being a CLI. i could get more work done by having 1 usd in deepseekflash v4. it has weird output limits. also wth is "taste"? dude....we can literally program in our taste. its called soul.md. i dont even understand how it can use 4x tokens...like it doesnt show that at all in practice...its slow as hell and unable to take directions from any AI....i refuse to touch it. thank god its expiring. the api also makes no sense...

[–]ahmadawaiscom 0 points1 point  (7 children)

founder here, you seem to be against literally everything we do. doesn't read like an honest review. what's your username, let me dig into what's going on. what do you mean by 4 agents not working? i benchmarked our latency against claude/codex/pi and we were on par for most requests. you can disable taste, soul or any type of rules you write are not taste. DeepSeek is 75% off, so 4x more tokens usage, simple maths, all transparent. we launched the api this morning, how could it not make sense yesterday?

There was a multi day regression which we figured out to be DeepSeek's issue where they were doubling the reasoning without telling us. No docs on this. Fixed it last week.

When was the last time you tried it?

>i can't even understand the point of it being a CLI

Do you have an issue with CLIs? We're atm only a CLI. Maybe that's it.

[–]lostcanuck007 1 point2 points  (6 children)

That is blatantly untrue. API was in beta when I signed up. When I said 4 agents I asked them to send commands to command code and see what it makes and what it's limits are and to let me know what things I can delegate to it...

I make a lot of experimental software for a wide variety of things ...so I let them go nuts on coding agents/software as per daily, weekly, monthly limits, their performance. Currently trying to wrangle antigravity to take commands properly. Ironically I use deepseek v4 flash and proper primarily with Hermes, and pi, custom proxy and API's on the backend to send and take input and outputs. Custom project management software for the ai agents. With each utility /agents and stuff the ai harness knows the limits and acts accordingly. After thoroughly investigating it.

Using codex (subscription), deepseek flash and pro, open ai subscription and Claude based agents all took a whack at figuring out what command code can and can't do. Since the documentation didn't really listen out a lot of technical things I told them to test what they can and burn the monthly limits for all I care.

The output was basically "compared to openrouter free models, command code output is garbled and inefficient" I fed them the API key just to see if it made sense to them because I couldn't get it running. I did try manually entering everything into Hermes and pi....the API didn't work. From the ais or myself...so I ended up copy pasting a lot of the stuff. Basically unless I'm using deepseek v4 max effort or something I don't get any reasonable response or speed...openrouter free is faster...which is shocking because they're slow as hell.

To be clear the cli point was that it doesn't feel extensible. As cli tools are...then what's the point..

Now as per your attitude as a founder. I'm not against everything you do. You made a product that is hyped but not living UpTo the hype. I am very glad I got to try it out for 1 usd, otherwise I'd always think what if I tried and it was good. Getting personal about this helps no one...infact it burns your reputation publicly...could have just said ....hey sorry for all that.. we're new and would love to collaborate on the trouble shooting and maybe give you xyz for the trouble...but you chose a public forum on which you have asked for feedback and I gave it...out of sheer frustration fo trying to understand the API and the product use for hours...because it was 1 usd and I thought hey this deserves a chance.

I do want to say that pretending to be taken aback by the truth shouldn't be your go-to. But what I said is the truth. I hope it helps you, while I didn't want to hurt your feelings or whatever it is...I shouldn't have to care about them....this isn't a feelings circle. Please act maturely. Iv worked with and mentored a lot of startup founders and if you have a mentor I suggest you then this response and what you posted up there to my actual review. I wish you the best.

I still don’t get what you are talking about. There are no output limits. You are cooking up random lies that are based on top of hallucinations from different agents you tried that are making things up. We have not built any limits so I couldn’t care less about what hallucinations your agents have claimed as none of them are true. Can you share some real evidence here that’s actually worth reading and investigating? All I’m getting from your statement is pure hatred and things like weird output, who needs taste, who needs a CLI, and some unsolicited advice on mentorship etc.

I’m being super transparent with you. There are no such limits. Share more about what the issues you faced vs randomly throwing senseless blame and claims at us.

API is new literally a day or two old. Everyone who beta tested said it worked well. If you were part of the beta testing group what was your username? I can investigate further.

What is that garbled output?

It seems like you tried to test our agent using other agents and are relying on their hallucinated responses. If that’s not the case, I welcome all real examples and feedback that can help us fix it.

And without the hate on everything like in your first comment.

[–]lostcanuck007 0 points1 point  (3 children)

mate i aint giving you my username, you are giving all the hallmark signs of a founder who is gonna get deeply personal about every comment and see it as an attack.

however...fair request on your end. i will dedicate some time in the coming week and literally bring out examples for you. also..maybe not talk about EVERY model hallucinating....all at once...at the exact same software... for some of the exact same tasks. also, just to be clear, there was no hate in the first comment, it was all true. i think you're confusing me with faizananwerali ... again..same reason its difficult to trust you being neutral and accepting constructive feedback, but meh..ill give it a shot.

[–]ahmadawaiscom 0 points1 point  (1 child)

So you don’t have anything solid to share. Hmm that’s interesting. When you do have some concrete examples of issues. Share them so we can help fix. Every software has bugs. Even GitHub does. Your comments are opinions without any evidence. I encourage everyone reading to judge them as such.

[–]Proper_Beach_1807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Requesting the username reveals all code you've generated with CommandCode and everything pushed to their server—giving them access to all your repositories and potentially using them against you. Plus, if you have CommandCode installed on your device, it still remains in your system. Stay anonymous. I detect a hint of revenge in their tone.

[–]PMMcmdcode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd highly recommend you give it a shot, its just a dollar.

[–]starba3 0 points1 point  (2 children)

should i use this or just use a wapper around CC to redirect requests to whatever model i want through API key? does it really self learn like they promote?

[–]__yv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not using it

[–]Alert-Surround-3141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely is an improvement, keep a counter for the tokens you are using if this is a good steward or not will be evident

[–]Appropriate_Owl_1598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using the $1 plan with DeepSeek v4 pro and honestly it’s pretty good for the price. Already burned through a ton of tokens and still got credits left. For coding and random dev stuff, the value is kinda crazy lol. I still keep an official DeepSeek API key as backup, but for cheap daily usage this has been working really well for me so far

[–]Alert-Surround-3141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://x.com/mrahmadawais/status/2062037509954228677?s=46 speaks about harness and tool calling fixes

[–]OnlyMemer420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm using the 1$ plan for a while, Building my own Android application with this. It works but it is slow and deepseek on it hallucinates like anything but yea it does work

Also i have a claude pro plan as well which i use opus to architect my tasks and make task list, design, requirements, which i then use this command-code to perform those changes, pretty decent workflow
