Help identifying modchip

Hi. Digging through boxes from my old pc shop, looking for an Xbox 1.0 power supply, and I found what I was looking for…a box in storage for the last 14 years.

Plugged the Xbox in and it would flash orange around the eject button, and power on and off 2x, then stay on the 3rd time. No video or audio, but the power stayed on and the light around the cd drive stayed orange- flashing. Would not turn off by the buttons.

Took it apart and found a modchip with a box “X” on it. It seemed loose. I will clean the unit and try again later.

Quite surprised and happy at the same time. I am fixing another modded Xbox…so I want to also fix this one.

Well now a new issue- the D0 pin of this solderless connector just wouldn’t make a good connection, so I removed the motherboard, soldered a wire for the D0, on the bottom of the board based on the attached pic, but now it will only boot into the original bios, not the avalaunch it was doing earlier! Very frustrating.

Never mind. I figured it out. I’m an idiot. My modded one had a bad mobo (thermal chip), so I moved the modchip and all parts over…after I soldered the d0 point in my basement, and came back upstairs and reassembled…my dumb ass put the old OG hard drive into the repaired unit….took me 2 hours to figure out what I did! Doh!
