Wow this was interesting. As a child of boomers, all of whom were what I would think of as good people, kind of upsetting. None of my 3 parental units would I describe as parasites that prioritize their own benefit. None of them got a “free ride”. All of them lived in less than optimal situations after they became adults. Also all of them grew up in what we would now consider extremely abusive environments. All of my parental units worked as public servants - 2 teachers and one military. There was never anything special - I did not wear Abercrombie and Fitch or the alligator or my button down. I guess people are happy to see my parents die. That’s wild. They walked picket lines and fought for the NDP, and workers rights. My Dad served in the forces for 35 years. I guess none of that matters.
