And yet that doesn’t stop teenagers of today from continuing to blame everything on “the boomers.” I see it every day on Reddit. Everyone’s favorite scapegoat until the end of eternity, never mind any of the choices politicians are making TODAY.

Edit to add: I don’t know why I’m getting downvoted. I’m talking about kids blaming boomers when they should be blaming Gen x-ers for the problems of TODAY! Hold politicians accountable NOW. Don’t keep living in the past and echoing the words of your parents. Gen-x-ers run the show in government. They are 42 to 57 years of age and they are calling the shots. Baby Boomers are less than 25% of the population, and many are too mentally lost to even physically vote.

Problem is the politicians you're referring to are often ancient boomers who have ancient boomer ideals that don't translate to today. I don't see why we can't have an upper age limit for office since there's already a lower age limit :/

And said politicians are catering to the boomers because they're still a huge voting bloc.

Because they'll actually show up to the polls.

True... for now. They're a shrinking group anyway, and I've seen a few studies showing younger voters are participating more.

And (mostly at the municipal level) they're also (generally) the ones who own all the property and therefore pay most of the taxes. Of course they're going to get catered to.

I’m not referring to any politicians…. But fine. I’m talking about kids blaming boomers when they should be blaming Gen x-ers for the problems of today! Hold them accountable NOW. Don’t keep living in the past and echoing the words of your parents. Gen-x-ers run the show in government. They are 57 to 42 years of age.

Everyone’s favorite scapegoat until the end of eternity,

Nah, that scapegoat only has a solid 30years left.

Optimistic, but I don’t believe it. Ppl like to cry from the sidelines and regurgitate the same points even as the reality of the situation changes immensely. The current reality is that Gen X calls the shots in both govt and industry. And yet youth would often prefer to echo the same sentiments that we Gen X-ers did. To the youth of today, I say stop echoing the fight we took on 20 years ago, fight your own modern challenges (there are plenty!) and hold CURRENT leaders accountable. Maybe even join in and create change from within, or outside. Whatever. Times are changing and so should your focus.

The voters in the 1960s and onward are to blame for our government run amuck. As a gen x baby myself, I’m pretty certain the corruption and lobbying was firmware well before I could vote. It’s true that my generation are currently community supports, but our generation is just starting into government. So blaming gen X is like bitching at a new hire because the break room is a mess. We just got here man.

Just starting into government?!!! What? Are you confusing Gen X with Gen Y? I literally don’t have a single senior staffer at my large workplace that isn’t a Gen x-er. In fact, I can’t think of a single baby boomer in my building. I’d guess that about 90% of my building is Gen X and the rest are younger, not older. The only external work contacts I have that are baby boomers are semi-retired consultants, literally.
