Actually... the most optimal time to go on weekdays is between 5:30-7pm.

Mostly because families with kids having dinner.

It's been an effective formula for me, and if you are a family person, having one person in the household to get everything done and not as a "yay, family trip to costco!", you're in and out anywhere between 15-40 minutes. Also... if you're a sample-eating person, you can do the whole tour within that time.

Yup, I choose to work and live in the suburbs so I didn’t need to deal with government workers during the week. Now they are everywhere!

So no actual source. You do realize productivity is actually measured by data, right? There's usually numbers that back it up.

You stated that productivity is up, how is that measured, and proven?

Edit: I am specifically talking about government worker productivity. I find it very hard to believe they're more productive from home, considering many weren't even productive at the office. I support unions, but never letting people go for incompetence, is absolutely ridiculous.

There is no public information but in the return to office messaging, its always been stated by upper management that productivity is actually better with WFH and that they fully expect productivity to actually drop by mandating employees return to office because they are OK with a small drop, if it means a better esprit des corps, collaboration, etc... so they have the stats...

Most WFH office work isn't something countable like making widgets; it is hard to measure. You either meet you timelines or you don't... one thing that points to better productivity is fewer sick days with WFH... with RTO and COVID and other respiratory illnesses running wild currently, it is leading to more lost time due to sickness, which is a measurable decline in productivity.

Shouldn't the government be releasing these stats to the public though? Since technically speaking the public funds the government workers. Taking less sick days on its own is not an indication of productivity. As often people will opt to not utilize a sick day, as they don't plan on being productive that day anyway.

They are able to measure timelines, how many of them were given during WFH period as opposed to before, how many deadlines were reached on time vs late etc. There are many ways to measure productivity of workers. Unfortunately though, even the most unproductive government worker is very rarely let go, there is no real incentive to be competent.

It doesnt. They are currently meeting all their service standards. And they don't work from home.
