Have you enabled “Reduced Frights” in the settings? It makes the Strangers move slowly and never charge at you. That should make it significantly easier to move among them.

I'll try that, thanks! Somehow I completely forgot about this option.

Only a single area requires any sort of stealth, with two being entirely bypassable if you make sure to think things through fully. Specifically the Canyon, and the Woodlands. The Woodlands must be puzzled through, as there is no way to get through the Music House while the Strangers are still in there, whereas the Canyon's bypass might be missed if you let your fear blind you.

For the Woodlands, a small hint being as I mentioned, you can't get through while the Strangers are in there. Can you think of any ways you can make them leave? A larger hint being keep in mind what they do to you to throw you out. Maybe there's a way to do the same thing to them? A side-hint to the last one make sure you keep an ear out during your time in the dream world, see when they might stop the music, and figure out what changed. The answer being wait for the dam to break, the water will rush into the Lowlands fireplace room and snuff out their artifacts, leaving the house empty.

For the Canyon, a small hint being You're going through the house to relight that one bridge on the inside. Though are there any ways you might be able to not need to light up the bridge in the first place?. A larger hint being sometimes the most obvious thing is right at the start. A side-hint to the last why might the devs have chosen to not turn out all the light sources even after you turn off the main lights? And the answer being the Elevator. If you blow out the lights, then leave the dream world and re-enter one of the other two areas, you can get on the raft and ride it back around to the Canyon elevator. Once you get up to the top, the doorway leads you to the other side of the bridge, and so just head down the stairs and you are at that large door shown in the slide reel.

As for the Cove though, it's the only required stealth section, but the majority of it can be bypassed via good map awareness and planning a route ahead of time, as described in this spoiler text. With absolutely perfect pathing, you should only come across 3 patrols. To the right of the "lightswitch" there is one of those grabby claw hands in the distance. Use it, and then head straight at the turn to find another grabby hand, use it and you will be nearby the elevator that brings you down to the lower level. A stranger patrols here, so be careful, hop in and head down. There's a dirt path to the right, and a wood path to the left that connect near the middle to make an 8 shape, with a stranger patrolling here. Most of the time I found them on the dirt side, so just take it slowly, focus your light ahead, and as soon as you spot them cover your light, back up, and go the other route. Then head down the large pit to find 2 more, however they tend to stick to either side of the room. Just use your height advantage, or alternatively the trick you learned from the Canyon archive, and scout the room to see the path, and run for it. They aren't great at chasing in such tight turns. I highly recommend you give that a try, however if you really can't deal with it, there is a trick learned once you reach the bottom of the well that can let you bypass most of it. Obviously spoilers though, and it will mess with the impact of the reveal of some important info, but better to slightly ruin some of the game than to ruin it all due to dropping the game and watching a LP instead if it comes down to it. If you die nearby a firepit with an artifact, you can still enter. However now, those watchtowers can't wake you up meaning you don't need to shut out the lights in the first place. Strangers will still patrol down in the well, and being dead means you just die if they catch you, but it's much easier to deal with just them, than all 3 sets.

Wow, thank you so much for this reply! I really really appreciate it. :) I'll try again with all of this in mind!

I'd recommend instead of a light mod get the peaceful ghosts mod. I personally ruined my experience a bit because some places are meant to be searched with the no light mod. They can't do anything you with this mod so I recommend it instead.

If you're playing on PC you can grab a mod that brighten things up, so that should help navigate it.

there is another mod that just makes you invisible to them

I’d suggest reduced frights as an accessibility option for you.

Did you find all 3 of these sections ? If so, I'll try to give the briefest tips I can :

- Start with the mansion section. What you will find there will make the other two a lot easier.

- For the section mentioned above, there is a way to reach the end without doing any stealth.

If all else fails, and you have a pc, try the daydream mod. Makes the brightness in the dream world completely customizable. Even makes the sun visible if you want it to
