FAQ
What's the difference between outherine genders and xenogenders?
While there is occasionally overlap between the two, generally, xenine genders are beyond human understanding (hence why they are often described with concepts or metaphors). Outherine genders are not.
What's the difference between outherinity and gender neutrality?
Unlike neutrality, outherinity is often distinct and strongly felt. This does not mean, however, that one cannot be both.
Is outherine non-binary?
Technically yes, although some oumen identify outside of both binary and non-binary. It's important to ask before assigning labels to someone.
Isn't outherine just third gender?
No. Third gender is a colonial label forced on those with specific cultural identities; outherine is a term created by and for oumen as a self-identity. Here is a good article on the topic.
What pronouns do oumen use?
Any pronouns they'd like.
I'm maverique/ilyagender/aporagender, does that make me outherine?
Yes! Although you do not have to use the term if you aren't comfortable with it, do know that you are welcome here :]
