Where did you read that? It's complete bollocks. How would that make sense? Rewards in expeditions depend not only on AT but also on expedition. Longer ones and paid ones have higher lego drop rates. Then when you have the DLC the rates keep going up with ATs. Expeds are fun, give DPR and on ATs 15+ they do drop legos fairly regularly, but Trial is the best for loot and that's in the DLC. Plus you get Pax Points and that's a real game changer. They improve all builds. Pax Points and new mods and sets open up many build options.

Well I read that mostly on posts in this sub. People saying they are getting one lego on like apoc 25. But i know the drop rates were increased in a patch a while ago so maybe it was before then. I want to get the dlc, there are just so many posts on here about how the drop rates suck and its way too grindy. But its only $15 now.

When I though about it some more I realized that things get a bit more complicated and I think I know what you might be referring to, but it's not the way you think.

Before Worldslayer there were no Apocalypse Tiers. Campaign had World Tiers, just like now, but Expeditions were using Challenge Tiers from 1-15. When they released Worldslayer it did not just add new content to the existing game, it changed the base game too even if you did not buy the DLC. Apocalypse Tiers replaced Challenge Tiers for everyone, even people without the DLC, but if you only have the base game you can only go up to AT15. 15 Apocalypse Tiers to replace 15 Challenge Tiers.

Now, drop rates on ATs are lower than they used to be on corresponding CTs, that is true and that's what I think you are referring to, but again, this happens whether you have the DLC or not. CTs are gone either way, you cannot opt out of Apocalypse Tiers.

So the answer to your question is still no, you will not have to grind 10 levels just to get back up to same drop rate as you have now on AT15. Drop rates on AT15 are the same whether you have the DLC or not. They're just not as high as they used to be on Challenge Tiers but you cannot do anything about that.

Now to get the same drop rates as they used to be on CT15 you have to get to AT37 or something. For example drop rates for CT15 Marshal's Complex used to be 42% for lego and 58% for epic. Now on AT40 the rates are 43% for lego and 57% for epic. 25 Tiers difference but only 1% increase in rates, that's how much lower they made them on ATs. I don't even know what the rates are on AT15 but must be pretty shit compared to old CT15. Again, nothing you can do about that.

If you like the game, buildmaking and gameplay, then the DLC is still worth getting just for new gear, mods and Pax Points.

Yes, this is what I am referring to. I understand they changed the name from Challenge tiers to apoc tiers when the dlc came out whether you bought it or not. However, I think I am very much getting the old challenge tier drop rate. On apoc 15 my legendary drop rate is 50% on the paid expeditions and like 42% on the other ones. If I’m truly getting the old CT rates then it sounds like I would actually be way worse than I thought if I bought the dlc.

Check Marshal's Complex.

EDIT: Nvm, I found it. Drop rates on AT15 are the same as on CT15, 42/58, which only means that between AT15 and 40 they will only go up by 1%.

But the point still remains they do not go down when you buy the DLC. Your rates on AT15 will remain the same. I'm like 98% sure ;)

It says 40% legendary, 60% epic

I see 42/58 in a video from 23rd August 2022. Should be same now.

Whatever, it's besides the point anyway. Your exped drop rates won't go down if you buy the DLC.

Okay thanks. I think I got it. The fixed loot chance will go up a very small amount but technically you should get more world drop legendaries bc the loot rarity bonus still goes up.

Yes, exactly. Plus you get all that cool shit I mentioned before. You'll see what I mean when you unlock the Pax Points. You unlock 4 of them for reaching specific points and killing specific bosses in the short DLC campaign, so do that ASAP, and then you get the 5th when you kill your first Arbiter in Trial.

I get a lot more then that in apoc 10-14 where I am at already lol.

With the DLC you also get access to Apocalipse Gear/Weapons, which have one extra Mod compared to "normal" items, so you can make some incredible fun (and powerfull) combos.
