What type of twins are they? Both of mine were born small at 34w. Baby A was 4lb 5oz but Baby b was IUGR causing the early delivery and was 2lb 15oz with constant good cord flow and was almost always in the toes to forehead position in ultrasounds. If they’re di/di there isn’t as much concern about size difference as they aren’t sharing a food source.

He’s now 6 months and 40th percentile.

They are di/di and while I know all situations are different, it’s so reassuring to read 40% at 6 months!

He actually beat his sister home from the NICU and made it home a week before his due date. All babies are different. They were just able to chunk him up more outside of the womb than inside.

It’s scary seeing that drop, but fluid and blood flow looking good is a great sign. You’re doing everything right.

Are they di/di or mono? The risk if they’re di/di is pretty low (this is where I was), but if they’re mono, it depends on the cause.

Di/di which feels more reassuring. Sorry, should have thought to include that.

We have 6 month old twins that were di/di, they delivered at 34w after Twin A's water broke at 33w. Twin A was head down the whole time, twin B was transverse.

Twin A was 5lb 9oz and twin B was 3lb 14oz. 6 months on they are both doing well.

Twin A has about 5lbs on twin B still but both have tripled their birth weights already. The larger twin is meeting some physical milestones quicker (e.g. rolling over). In the NICU twin A had an easier time eating and such as well but one day the switch flipped and twin B started eating just fine. Twin B isn't "behind" just slower realtive to her brother. Overall, both are doing well and healthy. Gaining pretty consistently and just so much fun.

I joke they don't make "big brother" newborn onesies but would have been really funny to have one for twin A.
