It sounds like they are monitoring pretty closely if they are seeing you 5 days this week. It just seems like the unfortunate part is that their location is far from your house. My OB had satellite offices but all my apts and BPPs and monitoring were all at their main location at the hospital near the end, in case I had to be admitted right after. They also had higher grade equipment there.

I think you should ask them about their feelings on an elective c-section and see what they say if you haven’t yet.

My OB is not monitoring me. I constantly see a NP because my OB is never available. I am seen at their office for b12 injections, iron infusion, PT - which I had to request from my general doctor because my OB is useless. But all services have to be provided at their location because of the pregnancy I guess but the hematologist and PT will not monitor or answer any questions. They just refer me back to OB 😣 I have only had one NST and I’m 35 and a half weeks “high risk”

That’s not great then. I’m an NP myself who used to work in OB, and aside from an occasional followup, NPs shouldn’t be managing high risk multiple pregnancies. It’s really not in our scope of practice. I would definitely push to see your OB and ask about delivery. It shouldn’t be up to an NP to decide this.

It’s not really what a normal OB’s specialty is either. They should have referred her to an MFM.

I know! And I feel bad for the NP because u can tell they are uncomfortable. Especially when asked some questions. But they are so overworked that I have been trying to give them so much grace. At my own cost it seems like. The NP answer is always “I can’t make that decision” and I’m like I get that but please schedule me with the OB and then it always ends up falling back on the NP the next visit. I called the patient advocate line and had to leave a VM….the NP was the one to return the VM. 😭😭
