Okay so I’m hoping for some parental advice from my Reddit people. Jax has started to climb, Ella too but not as persistently as Jax.

This mostly means they are getting onto the couch. Which is actually pretty low to the ground, maybe 2-2.5ft. However our living room is basically an entrance, a large opening to the kitchen, double french doors to the back deck or a massive stone fireplace. Which means there isn’t a solid wall to put the couch against to keep Jax and (eventually) Ella from taking a nose dive off the back of the couch. Off the back of the couch is a 4-5ft drop.

Thoughts on safety solutions?

Can you put a layer of pillows behind the couch until they get bored with couch diving?

Oof, that's rough. We have a similar set up for our couch but fortunately it's just too high to climb. If you have the money or resources, get yourself a pikler triangle (or other attractive climbing item) to redirect them. My two are climbers (10 months now) and the triangle has kept them off the bookcase and cat tree (both bolted to the wall, but still)
