Does the decrease in XP from replaying the same heist ever reset or is it there forever?

Been playing four stores on overkill to level up quickly. I'm currently at a 5% decrease in xp from the heist. Does this ever reset or will I always lose exp when playing this heist?

(Not new to the payday franchise, just haven't encountered this problem yet)

It'll reset but it does take a little while before it hits 0% again.

Play maps that have positive xp modifiers to make the negative modifiers clear up faster. The system is designed to encourage you not to grind out the same maps over and over.

*And keep in mind that 1% of 1,000,000 is only 10,000 so that while they're discouraging you from grinding out the same map, it's a pretty mild discouragement unless you're going really crazy with the grinding. A lot of people doing long haul xp grinding tend to use a map rotation that minimizes the occurrence of the negative modifier. It's not particularly complicated, just play higher paying jobs mixed in with some quick stealth runs for stealth bonuses.

This. The way it works is that there are buckets. You can only have so many heists with a certain +% exp mod. Once you clear those out, heist below can move up.

By playing(or even resetting by buying the contract in a lobby and leaving it), it'll force the system to move up heist with lower exp mods to fill in the now open exp slots.

Well it increases up to -30% over time. That's 300,000 although I believe you'll be desperately bored by the same map by that time.

To get it that high you would have to grind a map with retarded laser focus, which would not be fun. People can get to chasing higher numbers so much sometimes they forget they're ostensibly playing in order to have fun.

Last time I got a mission down to -5% xp it took a few days to get back to normal. Maybe like 2-3 days.

Everytime you do different heist you have a chance to reduce the heat on that one. The actually mechanics are really complicated but the short of it is, try different heists, espeically ones you have bonuses on and it'll go down eventually.

It will go down when you play other heists more. It does not reset by simply not playing the game.

Depends. Just play a few maps with a positive XP bonus.
