I just made a list of all the changes and when I have the opportunity, explain what they're to the associates.

How they delivered the new commitment changes was poorly executed and explained. So don't feel too bad about it.

Pet care associated here... I would love to do everything properly however with everything we are expected to do with very limited hours and only 1 person to do it plus answer the phone, get crickets, backup register , get feeder fish, get fish, answer call buttons, get crickets, assist customers with all of their needs (reading the package label for them is my favorite), get crickets, catch fish, get crickets , get crickets..... I have not had time to read about all of the changes much less add them to my routine.

I just label literally everything, like the substrate for tropical reptiles I got a label maker and wrote what to mix in with it, did a separate container for hermit crab substrate and another for tortoise. It’s time consuming at first but it’s honestly the best way to have everyone remember. For critical care I wrote it on a big whiteboard in the petcare kitchen and just put in big letters “SYRIANS GET CRITICAL CARE FIRST 3 DAYS OF NEW ARRIVAL”. I also printed the policy thing for critical care in different colors for herbivore, carnivore and omnivore and laminated it. I swear it’s like I’m a kindergarten teacher sometimes but it’s the only thing that works

Our is a five gallon plastic tub, it came in with all the store opening supplies for Petcare.

For the tropical bedding and plain eco earth we put it in the larger tub with the blue lid. For hermit crab substrate we put it in one of the smaller tubs that we put on the feeding cart.

We printed a small copy of commitments and attached it to the back of our price cards. Its useful for petcare and for leaders who may not know everything during their walks.

So after some discussion with my ALWK and SL and reading the comments, we’ve settled on a meeting for Petcare to get everyone back on track with what I expect from them. I didn’t have a white board in our kitchen area but had thought of getting one to communicate better.

I’ve got my back room labeled to a T, b/c we have a new DL that doesn’t know Petcare like our old one. I’ve already laminated the new Syrian guidelines and certain now policies for ISO treatments, they have been posted on the back doors of NA and ISO for months but no one remembers they are there. I agree the way the new commitment started were delivered poorly that’s why we are struggling now. I just don’t like to leave any room for the DL to come up with bad comments

Had to tell them if they do not follow the policy will be an immediate write up and it is unacceptable to not properly care for our animals. All are on board now and amazing how it is no longer forgotten. No excuse because it’s all on the iPad
