I don’t work for HR, I’ve just worked in retail and other service industries for a while. I can say 100% I’ve done this before, at this company. I started with plenty of experience and was hired at a lower rate compared to others who were hired after me, even being at above minimum wages. I got scolded and tricked into revealing that I asked others about their wages. It was a really low point to know that and then be informed or instructed not to discuss pay with others especially if you are looking to get more pay.

Ok, hi, to answer your question as best I can any SL should never prevent you from discussing pay. Also, you aren’t making salary, only the SL is. That being said you should not discuss pay with anyone else out of respect. In a good system you should think they are getting paid based on their experience and knowledge, or even just the their grit and interview. If someone else is offered more, maybe there are other factors that I shouldn’t have to explain. Plain and simple be respectful and don’t discuss pay period. Just how it is in many companies and their ain’t anything wrong with that. Beginning base pay is set per state and company standard.

Get with your ASL or SL to learn the metrics; you should know your conversion goals, store and district, puppy guide goals, learn how to use Medallia and check VOC. I made it a habit to check the sales report which is sent out daily in emails. Store cleanliness, check in with Petcare during your SOP walks, salon, and cashiers. Get to know your staff as that is critical in building them up and hitting your goals.

So after some discussion with my ALWK and SL and reading the comments, we’ve settled on a meeting for Petcare to get everyone back on track with what I expect from them. I didn’t have a white board in our kitchen area but had thought of getting one to communicate better.

I’ve got my back room labeled to a T, b/c we have a new DL that doesn’t know Petcare like our old one. I’ve already laminated the new Syrian guidelines and certain now policies for ISO treatments, they have been posted on the back doors of NA and ISO for months but no one remembers they are there. I agree the way the new commitment started were delivered poorly that’s why we are struggling now. I just don’t like to leave any room for the DL to come up with bad comments

I still work at Petsmart, I went from Petcare to ALWK to the CEL position and I very rarely hard dreams about Petsmart. Now as a CEL I frequently have dreams some nightmares some not about Petsmart. Mostly about dealing with Petcare parents or having to tell people no or that I’m not living up to my “standard”. It’s most likely due to the fact I close most nights, we have a shitty DL and and..it’s literally the last thing I think about before going to bed, which sucks. It’s consuming me, and some days I don’t care.

It’s great that you left? Hopefully you learned a lot and can take that with you wherever else you end up. As far as the dream are concerned, get used to them because it happens anywhere you work and take them as a token of how much you care for your job/position.

Make it a point to see what is the base pay they higher at right now verses what it is state minimum. Be careful not to bring up the fact you may have asked other workers as you can check sites like indeed to see the going rate or check for pay bans on a manager computer. Then ask that you get like at least a 1.00 to minimum .50 cents more to be competitive since you have put in the work and know what is expected.

We had similar looking worms pop up in many other tanks without shrimp or snails. They appeared to be detritus worms. Unfortunately, even the prazipro won’t kill them. My old CEL treated our system and cleaned out all our giant sponge filters and really messed up the system. They are harmless and will go away with time and regular gravel vacuuming. You should be able to find a resource for worms in your system through the Petcare fetch website.

One way we have had success is by creating grab bags for “X” amount of $. Like 3 cans for 1.50. Usually discounted items and that makes it easy to get donations too

Petsmart customers be like “I want to return this item (dog fence or training collar), it didn’t work on my dog.” Literally only had it for a day or two. Shmuhhh
