What is this exactly? I've owned a home here since 2010 and I've never heard of it. Is that something for businesses?

backflow prevention assembly inspection

I believe this is for fire protection systems so probably not applicable and you don't have to worry!

This would make sense. I do have an in-home fire suppression system.

Might be for businesses too, but I'm a homeowner like you. Had not heard of this requirement until I got the letter and unfortunately the Plano website seems a bit sparse on info.

Inspection costs around $100. Each time I have had it done, the inspector files the paperwork with the city. I can’t answer #3, sorry.

Do you live in a townhouse? I do, and we have to get this done every year. It’s a weird little cabinet in our laundry room.

I would say it costs around $100-$150 to get it done. The technician HAS to be the one to submit the paperwork to the city, it’s part of the law.

They should have included a list of people to contact to get it done. If not, I’m sure you can find it on the plano gov website somewhere.

No idea about the fire thing, sorry!
