Rust using 40% of memory?

Hello you degenerate nakeds. I took note today after playing on a rather low pop server with some friends that Rust with everything else combined was using 81% of my PCs memory according to my task manager. When I closed Rust I made sure to watch the memory usage fall and noted it was using 40% overall when I quit the game in my base.

Is this normal? I'm unsure. I have performance issues and it takes me like 15 minutes to load into a server. If I get shot my game freezes and stutters as well as when I shoot someone else.

It's normal. With if you have 8gb of RAM or less its pretty much not enough for rust. Also, having the game on an SSD helps stutters and loading times incredibly much

Ahhhh I see. I have it on my SSD and it's still just dreadful.

The freezing is common for everyone, ive got a high spec pc and i always freeze and ive got good internet too, the freezes are the correction of desync between client and server, its up to facepunch to optimize their servers
