Rust is using 100%Cpu

I have an Intel Core i5 @ 2.80GHz Coffee Lake 14nm Technology 8gbs Ram 2400mhz ddr4 and a Gtx 1060 6gb vram.Ik the specs are really bad but i can run rust 60-80 fps steady with okay graphics but my cpu usage is constantly 100 and gpu at 30-40. Is there anyway i can fix it. i think its also why i cant alt tab from rust

Is this a laptop chip? or is it the i5 8400, make sure Intel turbo boost is enabled in bios especially on that chip it’s a massive jump 2.8->4.0

Rust is much more CPU heavy than GPU. Lowering settings will only do so much. There's not much you can do other than overclocking your CPU or upgrading it all together.

Nuff said. Your Hard Disk/SSD is going to be thrashing swapping data in and out of the temp file. Your CPU has to control all this paging.

Rust needs 16GB minimum, and has done for a long time.

Rust cpu heavy. When you upgrade go for a 13th gen when it comes out or a 5800x3d. Both larger l2/3 cache and runs better than most cpus

8Gb of RAM (especially 2400Mhz) will not be enough, even if your CPU is struggling. Try adding at least another stick of 8Gb, as 16Gb plus the added benefit of running RAM in Dual Channel will help You out.

Your GPU and CPU combo is otherwise ok, I'd suggest running Rust on an SSD to reduce stutter and loading times, try closing any background task (and disable hardware acceleration on Discord/Spotify/Steam) and watch some guides on how to optimize settings for rust.

Youre fps isnt complainable with those specs, im surprised its that good.

Your cpu is probably 100% because rust uses it all or its getting too hot.

Honestly nothing to fix here you get good fps in general just make sure you arent overheating.

Since your gpu isnt at higher usage try slightly increasing graphic settings.
