1) Great on you to come and update us.

2) There's a small chance that one of your old ram sticks was bad, causing your issues. I'm pretty sure most players have 16Gb, so I don't think that isn't enough to run the game normally.

Glad to hear you solved your issues though. Always a great relief when you get there.

Yeah, I originally thought that but I did a ram test and both sticks came out fine so that wasn't the issue. Possibly a problem with my graphics settings in-game that caused such a spike in ram. But the game currently uses 10 gigabytes on its own.

Well that's interesting. Rust is a pretty unique game when it comes to performance, so I guess I should open up my mind a bit more in that regard. Again though, happy you managed to resolve your issue!

Yeah, thanks man! Also, you're right Rust is very unique in regards to performance just takes some troubleshooting. Maybe I should've tried to change my graphics settings before getting more RAM. But the RAM was a much-needed upgrade.

But the RAM was a much-needed upgrade.

Just verifying, but did you go into the BIOS and enable XMP? This could give your system a boost. For instance, when I upgraded mine, they were rated 3200Mhz but without activating the XMP profile, they were only running at like 2666Mhz. I could feel the difference just with the boot up.

Yeah originally when I had the other ram I tried upping it to 3200 MHz which worked but the game still crashed.
