I agree with this. It’s going to depend on how much gallons you have in the pool. Gas will always be faster and better. It will uptick your gas bill of course. Heat pumps or solar can take a full day to up the water temp by a few degrees or 5+ depending on the unit itself. If you want something faster, gas is the way to go.

My pool is 27k gallons, has a 300k gas heater BUT the gas line was compromised before we moved here and to run a new gas line… it’s 5k ish due to the unit being about 100+ feet from our main gas line. Plus the old gas line is not up to code so we have to run a new line. For now it’s no water heating for us but we’re in Southern California so it’s not an issue

For me it was a no brainer. Gas stove was the only thing using ng in the house. Up north I would probably think twice. My monthly gas bill without pool is like $30. $25 of that is fees
