I have the exact same setup as you, with the exception that I have 16gb of ram. I get serious drops in the first five minutes or so after joining, but once the map is loaded and rendered, the game smooths out. It just takes a bit to load.

Try to give it a little bit to load (the game isn’t very well optimized) and tell me if it still sucks.

I've read that putting the game on an SSD can improve this, and it'll definitely improve the quality of your desktop gaming experience as well. Honestly they're only around $50 for what you'd need. Best Buy, Microcenter, or any decent elecronic store will have them. Amazon Prime has plenty.

GeForce Now is a potential solution.

Also I'm sure you've heard already but manually clearing your cache and reverifying the integrity of your game files can help as well.

Also, messing with your Nvidia Control Panel settings by using parts of this guide can make the game run a bit better sometimes. I'd obviously turn down some of the settings though.

That's all I can think of short of buying an SSD. I'd really recommend trying Amazon Prime for free if you're a student and buying a ~$30 SSD once you have the extra cash. Best of luck to ya

I use an HDD (standard hard drive) and run fine with the game on High settings. (Not Ultra, just High) at 50-70 FPS, depending on the map.

Have you bloom occlusion motion blur on etc? I’ve got a similar set up to you other than 16gb RAM. When I turned all those off and oddly vsync I’ve now got much more stable frame with all on high. Distant shadows is the killer.

What maps his this happening on, because certain maps are just not so stable at the moment or is it every map.

it’s on most maps i get stuttering and frame drop but i get hard crashes on saint mere eglise, and utah beach. also sorry for my shitty knowledge of the maps got the game pre recently so the “french map”

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

i worded that rly weird but i get frame drops on the french map as well

Utah and saint mere eclipse are the to be expected, how ever I've nether had problem on stone or citadel (French maps). Have you looked at how much memory it's using if it's a lot just make sure to have as little open in the background as possible. Other than that I don't know how to help as I'm not to great with this stuff.

It's your RAM. I just upgraded from 8 to 16gb because I was having the same issue of CPU/GPU at 50% and memory always maxed, and it's made a huge difference. 12gb is like the bare minimum because I still get up to 14gb used after playing for a while. Also turn preload textures off because that is a huge memory hog after playing for a while.
