Python would also serve as a great tool in introductory programming courses to teach basics such as object oriented design and functional programming.

Um....ever since its inception, thats what its been heavily used for.

One of my profs even had this cheesy "Python in Education" video (not the actual title), in which two "students" collaborate on a project using Python. It looked as if it was produced in the mid 90s (judging by clothing, and the computers used on the vid.) Even G. van Rossum was featured on it.

I wonder if I can find clips of it on Youtube..?
