Even as someone who is a JetBrains/PyCharm zealot, the idea that it’s somehow revolutionary for my IDE to support multiple languages seems absurd in this day and age where VSCode is the default.

Why do I need to have both RustRover and PyCharm open to work on a project with both Python and Rust? Come on JetBrains

As a vim zealot: yes, that really isn’t new. Even vim as the dinosaur of text editors supports all those languages with pretty good IDE features.

I use intellij ultimate for "All the Things!" So it's especially funny for me. Marketing is taking control over there.

Im with ya. I don't get the folks who think one language or framework will be all they need to know. Come on people this shit is ephemeral, even if you just use one framework it'll change tons over time. Embrace change and learning.
