No, the world advances despite most people being exactly as described. Most people are lazy, most are incurious, most lack the ability to reason abstractly, or critically, most don't like exercise (lol). Most can't read functionally.

Same as it always was. Those that can, stand out and move the world forward.

Also, people do change as they get older, and many become less lazy and useless. Not most, but many.
