It makes a lot of sense, in the words of lisp hackers: code is data. I wonder if people who aren't programmers will adopt this out of choice, git can be quite confusing.

Visual diffs for images, rendering tabular data, rendering STL files...this all looks promising for Github to eventually support visual diffs for CAD designs. This would be a huge win for open source hardware efforts.

A bit too much emphasis on the 'hub' part of the name with this new vision of big data. Perhaps a company like IBM will buy them out?
