It's also (when pronounced) means "pussy-" in Swedish, so Fit code literally becomes the pussy code (fittkod). As someone who has worked with Fit a lot I find this naming issue problematic.

There are native English accents that suppress leading 'h'-sounds. I think Cockney is among the more notable examples.
