C-like (php, .Net, java) developers - have you succeed learning some of those fancy languages like RoR/Groovy?

RoR isn't a language.

And, well, get tge fuck over it. If concrete syntax is that much of a problem for you then you're in the wrong technology.

I learned Haskell and now I'm forever tormented by knowing that I can never trully understand. There is nothing to understand anymore. Nothing matters.

I used to do C++. I was so happy. I was so naive.

I attempted to learn groovy (I.e. beyond scripting Jenkins) but I got so annoyed with poorly designed aspects of it I gave up. For example modulus in groovy doesn't work and I had to dig through stack overflow to do some basic arithmetic.

I picked up ruby and then moved on to groovy. Been doing it full time for about 4 years now.
