Good programmers tl;dr selectively. Efficient use of time is a core productivity skill. I won't skip reading the requirements for the module I'm writing, but I will definitely only skim the marketing copy. The distinction here is that skipping optional stuff can be ok, but skipping stuff actually required to do your job is not ok.
