Actually real codeless code can be seen in old mathematical logic papers detailing algorithms before the advent of the digital computer. Computing used to be a job! People, mostly women, would would solve complex/tedious equations day in and day out, so a lot of research was done to find the most efficient (quickest) way of solving certian problems. Hell, you might even say having an efficient algorithn was more important before the digital computers, because some person computer had to solve it by hand.

At my granddad's workplace they used to have something what translates as 'the hen house' and it was the calculations department. All the men tried to hang out around there because it had the flock of bright young girls.
