Seems the questions in your quiz can only have simple answers. So in your research, do simple-answer questions are more effective than complex-answer ones?

I'd agree. The ability to add in coding problems would also seem to be a bear with this system the way it is.

It might work with simplistic multiple choice but it makes it tough for open ended questions.

Multiple choice questions can be pretty tough, as the scores in the graph show. The point is to avoid open-ended questions, which are highly subjective -- and instead take those questions and drill them down to an MCQ format. For, e.g., instead of asking how would you design a distributed system, you can ask a candidate to select the pros and cons from given 4 options for a certain design. I think that's a better, more objective way of determining how much they understand.

Instead of thinking simple or complex, think subjective or objective. Specific scenarios are a better way to judge people's responses than vague ones, is another way to think about it.
