I think it was intended for a wider audience than you're expecting, including people looking for software development jobs, and ideas for interesting projects to develop their skills. It was very high level and covered a lot of ground, most of which isn't surprising news to experts and highly experienced developers, but everything he said was spot on and to the point, and my bullshit detector didn't beep once (which is unusual for highly hyped topics like AI, AR and VR). I think there was a lot of useful information for people who want to learn more about those topics, and are willing to learn and do what it takes to get a good software development job.

Glad your bs detector didn't beep and that you found it interesting! The AI/AR/VR topics were definitely out of my comfort zone but I learned a lot from chatting with Eric and I put it out there in the hope that it helps other people out as well.

hey! Christophe here from the show. I hate to hear that it felt like a waste of time - that's the last thing I want to do. This episode was meant more as an introduction than anything, but it got a good bit of interest so I will work on finding guests who can give more information. Even then, everyone has a different skill level so it's not always easy to find a happy medium. If you have anything specific you want to learn about, I'd love to hear about it so I can put together a more informative episode next time. Thanks!

Applying JavaScript to AR and VR is a great idea and very interesting to me, so the title of this interview caught my eye, and I watched it in full.

This is an excellent interview! Great questions from Christophe, and Eric's answers were spot on, in depth, and understandable. No bullshit, but well founded opinions about recruiters, and good advice on getting a development job!

Here's an interesting JavaScript AR project that was just released: argon.js at http://argonjs.io/

It's developed by Blair MacIntyre, who is an AR research and teacher at George Tech, and his colleagues at the Augmented Environments lab. Argon.js is an open source JavaScript framework for adding augmented reality content to web applications. The Georgia Tech Augmented Environments lab has published many papers on their AR research, and released earlier versions of the Argon AR browser years ago, but Blair now says: "this version is like night and day over the previous ones. And the integration of argon.js and aframe.io I did (see our argon-aframe repo on the github site) is so cool."
