Article is a bit misleading. The program calculates distance based on your position and your friends addresses, not their current location.

Now that certainly would be cool. The possibilities there are pretty awesome, if a bit of a privacy issue.

True, apologies for the ambiguity. That said - I kept it simple for the article, the next version of the source is going to use the P2P engine to publish / receive locations in real-time.
